Hi – my name is Jackie.
I am a Schnauzer Poodle mix girl. I am approximately 3 years old and weigh 27 pounds.
I was found as a stray in Ohio and ended up in a shelter. Thank heavens the shelter contacted Schnauzer Rescue Cincinnati – and before too long I was in their care. A funny thing happened though – the shelter originally thought I was a boy – and I had the name Jake for a short while. But when I went to the vet, it was discovered I was really a “Jackie”!! I was already spayed, but I got my vaccinations updated. I am heart worm negative and on preventative.
I then moved to the St. Louis area along with another girl who was lost to live in a foster home until I can find my new furever home.
I am a really good girlie! I want to be with you all the time and get a little upset when you leave me alone. Maybe because I got lost on the streets – I’m just scared that might happen again!!
I am affectionate but not pushy – as long as I can be with you within 4-5 feet – I’m just as happy as can be!! It is nice here - but I would really like to find my very own home. I like chewies and love playing with squeaky toys – the more they squeak – the better!! I’m very good in the house – always take care of my business when I’m outside.
I ride well in a car, and do well on a leash – but I really need a fenced yard at my furever home. I would make a great companion because I love to be with people – just to be close to them.
I am currently living with Tom and Ann in Herculaneum MO – right outside of St. Louis. My adoption fee is only $300 – not much really for all the love I can give you.
If you think I would be a good match for you – please fill out an adoption application and put my name on it – JACKIE. I promise to give you so much love. Thanks.
Jackie would do best in a home where there aren't small children - she tends to jump up sometimes and could easily knock a small kid down. She would be OK with older children who know how to interact with a dog properly. She would also do best in a home where her person is around most of the time and she isn’t left alone for long periods.
