My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Piata the Tripod! He is a sweet 2 year old American Bulldog mix. Piata recently has undergone surgery to remove his front left leg. Piata was left chained in a backyard next to an old shack with a broken window. Piata was jumping in and out of the window to take shelter in the trash filled shack and must have somehow injured his leg doing so. His owner never took him to the vet and Piata had been living for who knows how long with an injured leg. When we took him to the vet, over half his leg had gangrene. We initially tried to treat it with antibiotics, but it turns out the gangrene was too severe and amputation was the best option. Piata is now looking for a new home or rescue/foster to take him in. Piata is currently staying in boarding as he recovers from amputation surgery, but we would love to get him into a home environment. Unfortunately, we normally do not take in dogs as our focus is helping owned dogs so we do not have an available foster or strong adoption program. We would love any help we can get to get this sweetie out of boarding if another foster based rescue can take him in or if we can find a home for him!
