Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*Davy is currently living in a wonderful foster home in Houston and is available for local or out-of-town adoption.*
Davy is a Chocolate Labrador/ Duck Tolling Retriever mix with a beautiful chocolate brown coat and stunning hazel eyes. He weighs in at 45lbs and is about 1.5 years old. He’s still got a good bit of puppy energy – he loves to play around with his foster parents and dog siblings, but will just as easily curl up next to you on the couch to be loved. He gets along well with all his foster siblings young and old, but he has not been tested with cats or young children - he should probably be placed in a home with older children.
Davy’s original owners moved away and left him in the back yard without a source of food or water. Even before they committed this terrible deed, you could tell from Davy’s initial demeanor that they were not very nice to him. Luckily he was found by some concerned citizens who rescued him from his dire situation and brought him to Reggie’s Friends. Due to his recent circumstances, Davy is still getting used to life indoors where he is loved and well cared for. He still gets spooked by loud noises and things of that nature but he improves every day and is otherwise one of the sweetest dogs his foster parents have ever come across.
So far, Davy knows “sit” and is far along on his leash training. He also learned potty training very quickly so his new family shouldn’t need to worry about that. He is in the beginning stages of crate training but he’s already showing signs of improvement even though confinement was very new to him. Davy has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and has been checked by a vet to be in healthy condition and heartworm negative so he is ready to join his new family!
Davy’s currently living in Houston and is available for local or out-of-town adoption. His adoption fee is $300. He’s a handsome and sweet pup and is looking forward to meeting his new family. If you are interested in learning more about Davy, please email adoptions@reggiesfriends.org or if you’d like to adopt him, visit our website, www.reggiesfriends.org to fill out the application under the Adoptables tab.
