Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rio von Rohr is an adorable, shy, smaller-sized 4-5 year old German Shepherd. Per her own words, 'Hi my name is Rio! Did you see my modeling pics? I really tried to smile for the volunteer because she said adopters like to see smiling dogs, but I am so afraid at the shelter. Sometimes I sit in my kennel, shaking like a leaf, and wondering why the other dogs keep barking. I am low-to-mid energy and probably the easiest dog you will ever meet. I walk very easily on leash, and hope that you will be patient with me if I am not giving hugs or kissing you right away. If you hang out and pet me on the head and tell me it's going to be okay, I will gladly walk next to you and even with your pack of dogs! After a few minutes I am happy to cuddle with you - I will rest my little head in your lap and give you some soft kisses -- I hope you don't mind. The kennel workers think that I am really cute and endearing; I hope you feel the same way about me. I am shy when entering playgroups but am such a doll in there. I always say hi to everyone, making sure I don't forget anyone in there, and my tail wags when the other dogs are friendly with me. I like to hang out by the sidelines and watch the other dogs play, and I always avoid trouble with the naughty ones. I would love to stay in a foster home because the kennels can be so scary for me; do you think you can come and ask for me? It would mean the world to me!'. Rio has a $345 adoption fee plus $85 health certificate, heart worm test, and one night boarding cost fees. These fees are paid to Westside German Shepherd Rescue in LA, CA. Great NW German Shepherd Rescue of Oregon pays $150 per dog for ground transport to Oregon and Washington and will gladly accept donations for these costs. Please email Great NW German Shepherd Rescue your interest in Rio and a link for the adoption application will be provided.
