Elkie is a male elkhound, about 5-6 yrs old, who was left chained on a deck in OH when his owners lost their home. He was fed by neighbors who took pity on him and called a rescue group. They didn't have room for him but worked with JNMRF to get him neutered, up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and had several cysts removed. Elkie is a happy boy and wants to be the only pet in your life! He doesn't trust other dogs and isn't fond of cats. He will bark for attention and loves a nice grassy yard (fenced of course!) He's a huggy boy and is hoping to find his special companion so he can stay with them forever.
