My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Saydi Jane could be the poster dog for selfish irresponsible pet ownership! She spent over 2 years with her family only to be dumped at a High Kill Shelter in Phoenix, AZ. Why? Because her family was moving and didn't want to take her with. Otherwise, they said she was "a great dog". Her given name, by them, was "Sweetheart". True story! It makes me so sad and angry! Long story short Saydi was devastated when her family left her. What intelligent animal wouldn't be? She was so confused and scared that she completely shut down emotionally. The first picture is of Saydi inside her cell at the pound. The terror and hopelessness in her eyes is haunting. When this picture was taken she had already been sentenced to death. Her crime? Being "too fearful for adoption".

As soon as I learned about Saydi Jane I knew I had to save her...and I did...with the help of an entire network of dog rescuers! Saydi is now being fostered in my home where she's thriving! She's learned once again how to trust and most importantly, how to love and BE loved. Our entire family adores her!

Saydi Jane is a turn-key dog. She's housebroke, well behaved and a picture of health. She's spayed and up to date on shots. Saydi loves to go on walks as much as she loves to curl up for a nap on a cold rainy day. And she loves LOVES our kids ages 10 and 11. When they're sleeping I'll find her upstairs on their beds with her head resting ever so gently on their backs. Knowing how close Saydi's tender heart came to stopping terrifies me! She was literally scheduled to die within hours. This world has gone mad.

We are in no hurry to rehome Saydi. She is welcome to stay with us as long as it takes to find her the furever home and family she deserves. If you believe that home is yours, please contact us. Her re-homing fee is $50 and her adoption contract will be very simple...you'll essentially be required to return her to us, and only us, if someday you decide you don't want her anymore. We're easy to work with. All we ask is that you love her and treat her the way she deserves to be loved and treated. Oh...and Saydi is to be an INDOOR dog. She enjoys playing outside off and on during the day, but she prefers to be indoors with her people. So if you are looking for a dog to live in your yard on a chain, or in a kennel...please look away. Saydi Jane is not your girl. Saydi is trained to stay within bounds of a Pet Safe Wireless Fence system which has been 100% effective at keeping her contained in our yard.

Thanks for reading Saydi Jane's Bio! And remember...

Adopt! Foster! Sponsor! Volunteer! Donate! Educate! And most importantly...Spay and Neuter!
