My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Lexi and I’m 12.5 years old. My lifelong family surrendered me to rescue and I’m being loved on in a foster home in Austin, TX. They really love dogs and I know they will keep me here as long as I need to be.

I have a few lumps and bumps (fatty lipomas). I also have some arthritis in my hind end but my foster family has me on Cosequin and some other supplements and I am feeling better. I have a couple of meibomian cysts on my eyelids. While these cysts are benign themselves, they do scratch my corneas a little so right now I’m getting eye drops twice a day to see if those help or if the cysts should be removed.

But, more about me! I am good in the house all day while my foster Mom and Dad are at work. I don’t potty in the house or anything. I’m a super sweet and loving girl. I just love being petted and will come up to you for love, and I’ll let you know when you can stop! When I go outside to do my business, I often don’t stay outside long and if I am kept waiting too long I will let my foster family know that with a loud BARK (I'm such a Weim!). I really am pretty quiet other than that. Oh, and I get along great with my foster siblings, even one that’s a rambunctious three-year-old Pointer. And I love meeting new people, because that’s more people to pet me and love on me!

My foster family says I am an angel and maybe even the best dog they have fostered, and I think they know what they are talking about because they have fostered a bunch of dogs! I’d love to meet you.
