Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Junior is a special boy. He is an older, retired hunter(10-12 years old) rescued from Death Row in Alabama who needed shelter in a hurry. When he came to us, he didn’t think he had a life.
Well, 2 weeks later, he was running up and down our steep hill with the other 3 Britts. At the end of the day he is tired, but he is spending his days with his tail and ears held high and his eyes bright. He is in excellent health.
Junior needs his own family, though. He has come so far, but needs a lot of love. He asks for so little. We have 3 Britt rescues of our own and our male, in particular, is jealous of the attention that Junior gets.
He is good on a lead – again, with 3 other dogs and the 2 of us, we don’t have time to build on his skills.
Junior loves to be outdoors. He needs a home with a fence, so he can prance and run when he feels like it.. He is great in the house during the day. For overnight, an outdoor, warm space to spend the night would probably be ideal He also needs gentle people. He still flinches when a hand is raised to pet him – though not 100% of the time any more.. He doesn’t do stairs. When we go upstairs at night, he stays alone downstairs
He is completely docile and loving. Junior needs a place to “lay back” and have the gentle emotional support he needs to overcome the abuse he’s suffered. Junior needs somebody who understands his needs. Junior is part of our "Seniors for Seniors companion program", so if you are interested in adopting Junior please visit our website at www.americanbrittanyrescue.org and fill out the online adoption application!
