Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sam is a special 1 1/2 year old boy. He is affectionate, smart, playful, vocal (when he wants your love), and very attentive to people and other dogs. He is great indoors, has house manners, but not a lot patience, which needs a little work. When he wants something, he wants it NOW. According to Sam, the ideal home would include a family to love and be loved, a couch, a dog bed, a human bed and NO crate. He is currently spending time in a crate during the weekday at his foster home, but he has Britt companions, so he is not alone.
Sam is a large, tall Brittany with beautiful markings and a gorgeous coat. He can be headstrong and is in need of some guidance and training. He is very capable of learning. He currently does sit for treats (when he is not overly excited) and does an automatic sit when you approach him to put his leash on for a walk.
Sam is very aware of his surroundings, including birds, squirrels, rabbits and all of nature's creatures. Sam needs a tall, secure fence for safe exploration as well as a person or family who can spend time with training and provide Sam with adventures that would make his life complete.
While he is waiting for his forever home, he has made great friends with his Britt buddy Bodie, and thinks he would like a companion in his forever home as well. Would you like to meet Sam? If so please visit our website www.americanbrittanyrescue.org and fill out the online adoption application.
History
Sam was rescued from a shelter in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He was picked up as a stray, and we thought for sure someone was missing this beautiful boy, and he would be claimed and returned home. When that did not happen, ABR came for him.
