My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ODIN is a handsome 6 year old, 60 pound, black, neutered Border Collie/Labrador Retriever-mix who’s house trained, crate trained and loves outdoor activities while knowing how to be calm and relaxed within the home. If you desire a dog with the enhanced intelligence of a Border Collie coupled with the personality of a Labrador, then ODIN is the perfect companion for you! He’s playful, energetic, well-behaved, handsome and a super smart guy! He’s a baby doll ~ very affectionate & loving as he enjoys giving hugs, giving kisses & snuggling with his humans the most. His next favorite activity is raiding the toy basket! Odin knows commands such as: Sit, Down, Stay, Wait, Come, Go Lay Down, Gimme Paw, Gimme Other Paw, Show Me Your Belly, Speak (tell me), Get Inside, Go-Go (release from heel) and Roll-Over. You also must say, “Odin, Okay!” for him to begin eating. Odin loves playing fetch (via tennis balls or Frisbee), is a whiz at interactive puzzles and likes a peanut butter kong to keep him busy. He loves car rides and belly rubs, too! Odin charms his foster humans on a daily basis, gets along great with the resident dogs, but he's a bit curious of cats. He has a gorgeous, wavy coat the he loves having brushed, sits patiently for monthly preventative application and his favorite treats are Greek yogurt, cheese, peanut butter, bananas, string beans and popcorn! ODIN’s hoping to find his forever family soon, one where the parents are home more often than not, one that provides a calm/quiet home with a companion dog(s), and one that’s located in a quiet neighborhood or rural area, with room to run around in a fenced back yard, or go hiking/go for long walks on secluded trails. Although a bit nervous during thunderstorms, he just seeks a quiet area to ride it out. He’s also a bit nervous at the vet’s office, so extra care is needed. He’s just a shy pup that needs a patient owner to help him warm up to new situations. He takes direction well so an experienced owner will have no problem helping him acclimate.
