My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Scarlett, she was rescued from Selma NC after her owners used her to make puppies, then took her puppies and moved, leaving scarlett on a thick short chain that was bolted to the front steps of the abandoned house for m9re than 2 weeks. A neighbor reached out to us for help and we had a volunteer cut her free immediately and got her the the vet care she needed. she is only around 30lbs and is around a year old.

Words from Scarlett’s foster mom:

“Scarlett is sooooo loving! All she wants is to be loved on. She loves toys and more than anything bones to chew. She’s a very happy dog and is always wagging her tail. Loves to go on walks and does good on the leash but did pull a lot which we’ve corrected with a front hook harness and walking is now very easy with her. She does have a little bit of seperation anxiety but she already seems to be doing better only after a few days of being in a home. She is crate trained and does well in her crate while we’re at work. We have her on a feeding schedule and she is so excited to eat all of her kibble when we put it down and loves treats. So far the only command she knows is sit but were working on some others. Shes very eager to please. She is great with kids! She has not had any accidents in the house after her second day here. Giving her praise when she goes potty outside seems to have done the trick. She loves sleeping in our bed at night. She loves to chew so lots of bones are a must! She does good with other dogs with a proper introduction, she ignored the hospital cat during her stay at the vet hospital but has not been fully tested with cats(she’s in a foster home without cats) She often plays with herself running around with a toy in her mouth! Even though shes high energy she can relax and snuggle on the couch in an instant. Shes very eager to be a part of our life. She has not been aggressive or disobedient towards us at all. I honestly think she is a fantastic dog has so much personality! She has helped to heal our hearts and taking the next step with letting another dog into our home since we had to put our baby to sleep 4 months ago. He was only 4 yrs old and was our whole world. Scarlett has opened our eyes and made us realize that we have so much more love to give! She would be a great addition to any family! Overall shes a big love bug but desperately needs her forever family. One she can depend on to give her love , spoil her, and one that makes her feel secure knowing they will never abandon her!
