Leopold ( around 4 years old ) is looking for his forever home. He is Pit Bull and around 70 lbs. Leopold has had a long journey and a sad story to go along with it, hopefully you can give this story a happy ending.
Despite his imposing figure and frame he is a gentle giant. He is in foster care with 3 other dogs, two other large pits and a Chihuahua mix. They are all buddies and Leopold gets along with them and the cats inside and even the foster family’s pet lizard, he is a big softie. He has learned all his basic commands, he is well-mannered and a gentleman inside the house who has earned the complete trust of his foster family. He knows his basic commands and is great on a leash, he is happy playing with the other dogs or just being a bum and sleeping. Leo’s foster family has three young children and there are no concerns around them, he is friendly and loving and has no issues with sharing his toys or food. But given his overall size we do think it would be best for him to be in a home that has some familiarity and experience with large dogs and preferably bully breeds.
Another unusual characteristic was discovered while he was boarded for a few days, he loves to swim in the facility’s pool. It is initially amusing to see him cavort in the water but then you realize he does not want to stop swimming and is a bit obsessive over the water and will not come out but keep swimming back and forth from end to end. An owner without a pool is definitely best given his preoccupation with it.
