And new a few words from my foster home:
Ritzy is an absolutely gorgeous, funny, sweet, and clever little girl. She loves to get up for some loving and cuddles, but then she prefers to get down so she can watch you from across the room. She always has her eyes on you though - so if you get up, she gets up. She has just recently decided that sitting on your lap is kind of a nice place to be. She will eventually be a real cuddler. Ritzy is fed with four other dogs and waits patiently for her bowl to be put down, but will growl if any of the others come near her bowl. This sweet girl is very quiet and you wouldn’t even know she was around, but will bark when someone comes in and is learning to stop when instructed to. At this point, she will run and hide rather than stand her ground.
Ritzy loves to get up on the big bed to check it out and wander around, but prefers to sleep in her open-doored crate or in the dog bed on the floor. Sometimes in the night she gets frightened. She will quietly pace the room for awhile, but will settle back down. Again, with time, I think she will love sleeping on the big bed. She is just still very unsure of everything. When Ritzy first came into the rescue, her fur was in a terrible mess. Therefore, she has been cut back quite a bit. Her fur is so soft and she has a beautiful red sheen in the sunshine.
Ritzy does not like the leash. We are working on it but if she is going to be your furever girl, you will have to patiently work on this with her. She is terrified of something whenever I pick up the end of it. She likes dogs, and is smart about her approach to people and other dogs. Ritzy has a sense of joy that just bubbles out of her. She loves to run in the yard and will run until she is exhausted. She is a beautiful and happy wee girl, and whoever is fortunate enough to give this brave little fuzzball a furever home, will have a fantastic companion for life.
