And now a few words from me:
Hi, I'm Leo! Even though I'm just learning my name I've started to come when called. I'm a gorgeous soft, long haired, red boy with the cutest bear paws in the world. I've lived my whole life in a kennel so now I'm learning what it means to be a house dog and I'm loving it! I love being outside in the yard but I like to stay close to my person. I love snow and will bury my face and roll in it. I'm a bit shy and new people and situations make me nervous, but give me a little time and I'll come say hello and explore the house at my own pace. I am still learning what toys and playing are and right now I'd rather watch than participate. I like other dogs, especially the girls :) I'm so handsome they can't resist my good looks! I like car rides as long as the roads aren't too windy and hilly, then it makes me queasy. I walk nicely on a leash and I don't bark much unless I need to alert you to someone at the door. I love to snuggle with my human and would love to be on your lap and sleep next to you as much as I can. Pick me and I'll be your right hand man, follow you wherever you go, keep you safe and be your best bud! Who knew life could be so good?
And now a few words from my foster family:
Leo is a wonderful, sweet and beautiful boy. He's feisty and loves to be outside. His house training is going very well. He loves to explore the yard and comes when called. He likes to stay close to me when outside however is starting to explore off on his own but never too far. He is a love bug and is content to be snuggled on your lap or next to you all day. He gets along well with my female dogs but tends to be a bit dominant with the males although he is easy to correct. He is learning what treats are, sometimes he'll take them and sometimes won't. - who know a picky dachshund existed? He's fed in a crate and eats nicely, not too fast. He likes car rides and walks nicely on a leash. Leo is a timid and will cower when approached however he does warm up after an hour or so and will come to explore you. He sleeps through the night and greets you with a happy face and kisses in the morning. Leo is an all around happy-go-lucky, tail wagging, funny little boy. He would be a wonderful companion and a loyal pet. Is he the one for you?
