Good day everyone! Pleased to make your acquaintance. I’m Diago and foster mom calls me her gentle giant. While my previous owner said I was 14 years old, I heard the vet tell foster mom that if she had said I was 8 years old, the vet would have believed foster mom. Therefore, we don’t know how old I am but I still have lots of energy to do things. I’m a happy boy who is always waging my tail. I’ll stand up on my hind legs if I think there is a treat or when I hear them preparing my dinner. However, you need to tell me to be gentle when you give me the treat since I tend to grab for it because I can’t see it. Foster mom is amazed at how well I do getting around because I can’t see. I bump into things but I don’t care.
Foster mom is really proud of me since I’ve lost 4 pounds. She says I need to lose another 4 or 5 pounds. Foster mom says I’m developing a waist line! It fells so good to be slimmer, I can do so much more than when I first arrived at foster mom’s. I’ve learned to go up and down a couple of steps to get in and out of the house but I’m careful to feel out the distance so I don’t fall. I love to go for a car ride and I’ll jump into the car. I’m learning to walk on a leash but the snow and salt has kept us from a lot of walks this winter. I like to meet new people since I’m a friendly soul.
I stay in a crate while foster mom is out but as soon as I hear her coming home, I start to bark. I sleep in a dog bed on the floor beside the big bed during the night. I’ll sleep in my crate with the door open when you are home. Sometimes, I’ll share the crate with another dog. I’ve mouth wrestled with the resident doxie who is 10 pounds and it is so much fun. Foster mom has several cats and one must be in love with me since she keeps head butting me. I don’t know what to make of it, it seems to be such a strange thing to do. I’m learning what toys are and have had some fun pulling the stuffing out of them.
Do you have room for me? My ideal home should be a house and can have respectful children and another dog.
