Lexie has clearly had some long-standing problems with her skin (itchiness and inflammation). We have all rescue dogs examined by a veterinarian and we provide treatment for medical problems, on a case by case basis, while they are in foster care. Our goal is to treat all rescue dogs to bring them into adoptable condition, as appropriate, in order to find them suitable adoptive homes. Lexie was examined by a veterinarian and is receiving treatment for her itchy skin issues. New oral medications and a series of medicated baths are making her more comfortable as well as improving her skin condition. Lexie is continuing prescription shampoo treatments and oral medications for her long-standing skin issues. After dental treatments and new thyroid medication, Lexie's wellness panel rechecks showed improvement in the abnormal values. We continue to provide treatments and perform laboratory tests.as we prepare Lexie for permanent adoption.
