Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Updated bio 6-13-16 Sunny is a year and a half, 5 pound adorable little Chorkie (Chihuahua/Yorkie Mix). He is being fostered in Palm Coast, FL. Sunny's adoption fee is $500 and includes all vetting (neuter, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Sunny by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.
Sunny is a one-year-old little boy. He is a 5 lb shy but very active Chorkie with highly inquisitive behavior. He was rescued from a hoarding situation where he spent his first 8 months in a crate not getting the amount of love and attention a puppy needs. He was then adopted from a local shelter, but the family found they really did not have the time for a puppy and again kept him crated. Just three days later his new family began noticing he was chewing at his feet and making big rub sores on his nose in his attempt to free himself from the confines of the crate. They contacted United Yorkie Rescue to find him yet another new home. At this point Sunny has been re-homed too many times in his short life and his next home must absolutely be his furever home. Due to his past of being confined only to a crate, he cannot be crated. Because he has been left alone with no companionship for most of his life Sunny also requires at least one stay at home mommy or daddy.
Sunny’s forever family needs to understand that he is still an active, young dog and displays typical puppy behavior. He needs to be guided with patience and understanding. He is still learning and exploring and he craves attention and playtime. Like a human baby he will get himself into trouble by putting things he finds around the house in his mouth and will chew on them. He is like a little vacuum and will pick up small objects he finds on the floor that could be potential choke hazards. He loves soft squeak toys and loves to chew out the little inner plastic squeaker! Sunny loves playtime with his person and other doggies his size and age, therefore another playmate in the household his size and age is required. He is very afraid of larger dogs. Sunny does display an Alpha personality so to prevent fighting a playmate in his next home should not be Alpha.
Sunny loves to run and play in the back yard or lay out in the warm sun, so a fenced back yard would be a plus. He is a cuddly little fella who loves to be held, be in your lap, or snuggle up next to you in your bed. He loves people and he loves to be around people. Because of not having any consistancy in the past, he does need help with housebreaking but being part Chihuahua and stubborn he may just have to wear belly bands when inside.
Sunny is a happy energetic little boy that craves attention. He is looking for love and the perfect home that will guide him with patience and the understanding that he has been neglected in the past.
