My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated Bio 10/20/2015 Miley and Sonny are a sweet bonded pair being fostered in Boydton, VA. Miley is an adorable 8 year old, 10 pound Yorkie Mix who looks like a tiny little fox. Sonny is his 8 pound, 12 year old biological father. Sonny is a purebred Yorkie.

Miley and Sonny have been in their foster home for a little over month now and they are FLOURISHING there. They have spent the past few weeks getting up to date on their medical care and are now through all of that and are looking to find their perfect forever home. They had a great person apply to adopt them but sadly this adopter had an unanticipated family crisis arise that made them unable to take them. So Miley and Sonny are once again looking for love.

Miley and Sonny have lived through really tough times. Without divulging too many details they were living in a shed under very unsafe circumstances. United Yorkie Rescue had to act fast and on faith to help them. One would anticipate that pups who had been through what they have endured would be fearful and mistrustful of humans but these to fellas are a sweet as they come. They are happy and grateful to have a safe place to live, a soft bed, and a full belly and a Foster Mom who loves them.

These two truly are a very bonded pair which is why we want SO BADLY for them to be adopted together. We know that Sonny at age 12 is a senior dog but it is not uncommon for Yorkies to live to be 16-19 years old and he is in good health. Miley gets very anxious when Sonny is out of his sight and serves as his protector. Both pups love to play in the sprinkler hose on sunny days outside. Miley loves to play (aka DEMOLISH) his squeaky toys. Sonny loves to get pets and belly rubs and just hang out and just needs a loving home to live out his senior years. They are very happy together. Both are well behaved and house trained and get along well with other pets.

We are searching for that VERY SPECIAL adopter who will find it in their hearts to take them both. They just need the love and safety of a forever home that they have yet to know. If you are that home, PLEASE apply to adopt them.

Initial Bio 9/14/2015 Miley and Sonny are a sweet bonded pair being fostered in Boydton, VA. Miley is an adorable 8 year old, 10 pound Yorkie Mix. Sonny is his very small 4 pound, 12 year old biological father. Sonny is a purebred Yorkie.

Both dogs came from a very sad situation. They came from a home where there was a tremendous amount of family strife and they were suffering from neglect. We were contacted by a good Samaritan who knew these dogs were in an unsafe situation and she was able to convince the owners to release them to her. Unfortunately this wonderful person was unable to keep them herself and reached out to United Yorkie Rescue for help.

These two sweethearts have been through so much…..Yet they remain two EXTREMELY SWEET dogs whose only desire is to find a home where they will both be loved and made to feel safe for the rest of their lives. They have been through a lot….and in the last five years they have always had each other to make the other feel secure. They truly are a bonded pair and we are looking for a VERY SPECIAL adopter who will find it in their hearts to take them both. Both dogs are house trained, very sweet, and well behaved. Miley is very protective of his dad, Sonny. They are very happy together.

We know that 12 is a senior dog but but Sonny is in good overall health except for the visual changes that are common in seniors his age. Miley is a playful and active boy. He loves to play with his squeaky toys and give non-stop kisses. Sonny is very sweet and gentle and loves to be petted and just hang out.
