Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Riga ('ree-ga') is Greek for 'stripe'. It doesn't show up much in the pictures, but she has dark brown and light brown brindle stripes all down her body. She is yet another wonderful girl at our shelter that was found as a stray. Her personality is so bright and cheery, it's baffling that someone wasn't desperately looking for her. Do you remember the dog from 'Up'? One of his quotes was, 'I have just met you, and I love you.' That is exactly what Riga is like. She loves you. She doesn't know you yet, but she loves you. She was born to be a lap dog. Don't expect to sit down, ever, without her cute paws and face leaning on you. It takes about one minute for her to bond with you and totally win you over, and she will be glued to your side forever. She wants a lifelong cuddle buddy! She's young and active. She's medium-high energy. She pulls a lot on a leash, but is surprisingly great off-leash - she stays so close it's easy to trip over her. She's learning to be polite - she jumps up on people. She would be a great family dog, and an excellent companion. She needs lots of attention - she would happily be by your side 24/7. Separation anxiety is a possibility, so if needed, our trainer can teach you how to prevent it. She is great with dogs of all sizes, big and small, which typically means that she will be good with cats and small children. She is definitely part Pit Bull, but she could possibly have other breeds mixed in: Austrian Pinscher, Vizsla, Pointer, Border Collie...? she could be anything. She's got gorgeous yellow eyes, has a regular build (not dense like most Pits), and besides being a little skinny, she looks very healthy. She's medium in size, maybe 40 pounds. We don't yet know if she is spayed. There isn't a standard green mark on her belly, so we will see if she goes into heat. She has not had a litter of puppies as far as we can tell.
