Lacey is fostered in Shiloh Illinois through United Yorkie Rescue - http://unitedyorkierescue.org. To find out more about Lacey, contact her foster momma at: resqdogs2@yahoo.com
Lacey came to United Yorkie Rescue in September 2015; 6 years old and 7lbs. she was a breeder mom at a dog mill her whole life. Since coming to rescue she's been spayed, is up to date on shots, tested heartworm negative and has begun the process of learning to be a dog and enjoy the good life. Lacey is very sweet, loves to give kisses and be held, however typical to a puppy mill dog who's never been socialized, she's timid (afraid of being touched around her head and neck especially), and a runner/bolter; this means she'll need a home with no children and a fenced yard (no wireless fencing). She gets along well with other dogs, but can get a little scrappy over bones and special treats so she needs to be watched during feeding time. She'll need a groomer that's understanding to her needs and is good with sensitive/shy dogs. She likes to be a couch potato and is learning to like toys and will spend hours trying to find the perfect place to hide it from her fur foster sisters. Not yet leash trained or potty trained, these are things that are being worked on. Preference will be given to local/nearby adopters.
Lacey's such a sweet girl, looking for her forever home, and has already come so far in the time she's been with us. To find out more contact her foster momma or to complete an application, go to: http://www.unitedyorkierescue.org or email: info@uyr.us
