Here's what the humans have to say about me:
WE ARE SORRY BUT WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN THE STATE OF FLORIDA.
Prior to coming to SHRF, Lucy was surrendered to a shelter by her owner who didn't feel she could take care of a Husky properly as Lucy has an alpha personality and was previously known to bolt out the door given the smallest of opportunities.
Lucy will need a home with a strong owner who understands Husky characteristics; such as being known escape artists and ensure that Lucy knows who is in charge. Since she has been in her foster home, she has not been observed wanting to find a way out of the yard and hasn't shown intent to bolt out the door. However, you just never know what a Husky may be thinking and should always use caution when it comes to escape opportunities.
Lucy is a petite, young adult Husky girl who is very loving and affectionate. She has a relatively calm disposition but has her energetic moments. She is very friendly and outgoing, whether she has known you all her life or just met.
Lucy is gentle and walks well on lead. She gets along with other dogs as long as they let her be in charge due to her alpha nature. Lucy appears to have been spoiled with human attention as she prefers to be around people. Her previous owners have taught her not get up on the furniture.
She has a tendency to rip toys apart and "de-squeaker" them so she will need some strong, Husky proof toys to keep her entertained. She also does not like to share toys with other dogs as she has shown possessiveness when her foster sister comes near her when she has a toy.
She also does not like to be left outside alone, and we don't recommend this. She is very aware of where her humans are and tends to only venture outside if they come along with her.
Lucy is healthy, housebroken, Heartworm negative, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped. This girl will give some lucky adopter all the affection and loyalty they can handle - let that lucky person be you; fill out an adoption application on our website, www.siberrescue.com, today.
