My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gertie was found as a stray. She went to the shelter, and was adopted. She was returned because she was wetting her bed at night. When returned, Gertie was taken to the vet and given very low cost meds for this problem----and it was cured.

Gertie was adopted a second time to a home with a number of children. Her eyesight is not good, and the kids kept grabbing at her. She was scared, and would startle. Gertie was returned to the shelter for startling when touched.

Gertie was adopted for the third time, and was there for a month. The adopter came to the shelter, said she was moving, and returned Gertie because she could not take her.

A few weeks later, Gertie came to MOMS Rescue in NJ. Her foster mom says that Gertie's hearing is minimal. Gertie was taken to an opthamologist, and it was found that her near vision is limited, but her far vision is perfect.

Gertie looks to be petted. She does fine with the 7 other dogs (of all sizes) in her foster home. She is spayed, heartworm free, and up to date on shots. Gertie loves to run around outside, and enjoys walks. She is quiet, and gentle when taking treats.

Gertie is probably 11 or 12 years young. She acts much younger. She takes Proin every day. She is shy with new people, but starts to trust within a short amount of time.

This is a good little girl who has had a lot of bad breaks. Can you give her the home she deserves?

Gertie's adoption fee is $125. Anyone interested will need to complete an application form, and have a home visit done.
