Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Marcia!
DOB 5/2/15
About 12 Pounds
Rat Terrier/Chihuahua?
Marcia was abandoned at a shelter in Tennessee. She is said to be part Rat Terrier or Chihuahua, but in rescue...you never know. We do know that she is absolutely adorable!
Marcia is a typical puppy, full of love and energy. She was adopted by a family that had to make a very difficult decision to bring her back to the rescue due to allergies. They loved her very much and taught her about all of the good things in life! She is just about housebroken, has learned what is hers to chew and what is off limits, and greets everyone with a wagging tail and puppy kisses. She gets along great with other dogs and will make the lucky family that adopts her very, very happy!
Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies.
Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a “teen” or adult dog.
Standard adoption fee is $295 (cash or check) and includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, up-to-date on shots, fecal, deworming, frontline, 1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, micro-chipping and 30 days of shelter care insurance.
We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email safehavendogs@yahoo.com for an application or additional details.
Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
