My story

The first step to the adoption process is the application. The adoption application can be found on our website at www.greatdanerescueinc.com. We need to have an applicant approved before we give out additional information on the dog and the number of the foster home.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my post. My name is Charley and I am a 6.5 year old Fawn. I am a handsome boy with very good manners. I am looking for my perfect family that will spend time with me and give me lots of back rubs.

I love to take walks and ride in the car. I am a very good passenger. I have 3 Dane foster siblings and I get along well with them. I am a bit shy, but they understand. I am starting to come around and touch noses with my cat sibling. I was a bit intimidated at first but she isn’t so bad.

I was told by my previous family that I have severe allergies (especially during the colder months) so my foster mom has to bathe me twice a week. My coat and ears are feeling so much better now that I am with my foster mom. I love that she is taking such good care of me.

I do have a secret that I want to share; I like to get in the garbage. I know, not very gentleman like but my foster mom and I are working on this. I need to stay out of the garbage because it doesn’t help with my allergies or my belly when I get into something I shouldn’t.

I was told that I still need my man parts removed before I will be ready for my new home. This is so embarrassing but I know why it has to be done.
