RYDER
4-5 month old male puppy! Ryder is a special boy. He was abused as a young puppy. He has healed scars underneath his fur. As a matter of fact he had a cut along his neck from the people in the kill shelter we saved him from. He weighed 10lbs @ that time and "growled" at the shelter worker so he choke poled him and cut his neck! When I picked Ryder up from the shelter they were literally pulling him down the hall on his behind with the choke pole. I squatted down and picked him up (after a few choice words). He is shy with new people. He's really learning now and is very loyal to the foster family he's staying with currently. He was in a different foster family for his first 6 weeks with MASH and made great strides. He needs a family that understands it may take him a time to get totally used to you. He's been in foster with a nice family that has three kids from 2 years old to 13 years old. He's in foster right now with a family with two children 3 & 5. Ryder does great with other dogs! He has made more strides in the past two weeks! He now gets on the couch with the family and lies in Tammi's lap for petting. He also nudges their hands to get petted. He knows how to sit for a treat. Ryder is house trained, sleeps in his kennel with the door open, walks on a leash , likes to ride in the car. Mostly quiet but knows when to bark. He does well when he visits the veterinarian. He's very smart and learning quickly. He will benefit from obedience training in the future to support his socialization. If you have a special place in your heart and are home alot during the days he will be a great dog for someone that has the love/patience and time to give to him. We don't just rescue healthy dogs. Some of them are like people ---they have needs both physical and emotional. He's up to date on vaccinations, neutered and on heartworm preventative. Will you search your heart to decide if he's your forever dog? Ryder has love to give we are teaching him how to give it!
