Otis is an older fellow who turned 12 this spring. He is little (at 13 pounds), bouncy, spry, energetic, and loves to always be on the move. He lived as an only dog in his original home, but gets along well with the dogs in his foster home and seems (if a trip to the vet is any indication) to be fine with cats as well. On first meeting, he tends to get in other dogs' business just a bit too much, but after about 24 hours and some growling from the other party, he tames it down. 

Otis is doing well with his potty habits. He walks nicely on a leash, and will use the bathroom while on it. Though he initially barks when he goes in his crate, he eventually quiets down and can sleep through the night without wetting it. He may to try and mark in a new environment, but this is quickly curbed with a belly band and - in a week or so - he seems to learn the new routine.
 
Otis is getting back up to speed after some malnutrition; he has no teeth, so will do best on soft food. He also lost most of his hair, but the vet believes it was because of poor nutrition as it seems to be growing back.
 
He is a really great little dog. Loves to follow his human around, loves to snuggle on the couch, but also loves to explore every nook and cranny of the house. Could do well as an only dog or with companions. Also listens very well - and seems to know sit, no, come here, go outside, etc.


 

Please be patient, our organization relies on volunteers and foster homes throughout the state. Only applicants with approved applications are able to meet dogs listed for adoption.
