Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Charlotte is currently in a loving foster home in Houston, Texas and is available for out-of-state adoption.**
Amazingly sweet, silly and beautiful are the best words to describe our girl, Charlotte. This girl was spotted for 3 weeks roaming a neighborhood just north of Houston, but was so scared of everyone that she would run from those who were trying to help her. One of our volunteers set up a trap for 3 days and finally was able to bring Charlotte into the safety of our rescue group. Knowing how frightened she was of the previous attempts to help her, we were assuming that she would take a long time to adjust to being touched and cared for by people. This was not the case…she immediately loved attention, affection and all people. She absolutely fits the typical Labrador, family dog stereotype.
Charlotte is a black Labrador with the shiniest coat and silliest personality. She has touches of white on her chest and on her two back feet as well. She loves for her new friends to rub her floppy Lab ears and pet her constantly. Belly rubs are most definitely on her daily agenda along with playing with her dog friends and taking walks with her humans. She is about 2 years old and currently weighs 67 pounds as a full grown adult. Charlotte has learned to play so well and loves all activities. She’s goofy, fun and loves everyone that she meets.
Currently Charlotte is living in a foster family with 2 small dogs and an 11 year old girl. This family has quickly grown to adore Charlotte’s delightfully playful nature. She plays very well with her foster siblings and loves to run in the yard playing chase. She also visits her neighbor’s family often, which consists of a 2 year old girl and 5 dogs of all ages and sizes. She’s perfectly comfortable in the presence of all of these family members and will easily adjust to any family dynamic. She is the submissive personality in most packs, but she doesn’t miss a beat to make a new friend. Her sweet kisses on a toddler’s face and watching her tail wag when she is getting affection are both extremely heartwarming. She’s settled in nicely into her foster home and it is very evident that she is going to make a family an amazingly loyal and happy friend.
Charlotte is fully house trained, leash trained and is perfectly behaved inside the house unattended. She loves a good chew bone and visits to the dog park. She’s in the process of learning a few basic commands, but already comes to her name, knows NO and is one of the most family friendly pups around. She loves her dog bed and doesn’t get on the furniture or human beds at all.
Charlotte’s ideal family can really be any dynamic, but she really needs a dog companion in her family to romp around with, follow their lead and really because they just make her happy. She LOVES to play and you can see her smiling when she’s out with her furry friends. She lights up at the sight of new dogs at the park, so we want to let her have a sibling to goof off with constantly. The beauty of Charlotte is that she can go out for an hour and play at her full ability and then come inside and act like a lady!
Charlotte tested positive for heartworms at her first vet appointment, but this is very common in Houston, so she has already started her treatment regimen and should be free and clear of these in the near future. This doesn’t require her to reduce her activities at all. Her 2 medications are all provided to her adopter at the time of her adoption and they are very easy to give…she loves cheese! She is already spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and other than the heartworms…she’s the picture of health and happiness.
Charlotte is ready to join her new family and she will bring so much joy to them. She is currently living in Houston and is available for out-of-state adoption. Her adoption fee is $500 to help cover the costs of her airline flight, new travel crate and bed.
