Meet Kirby, an adorable smart 5 y/o Jack Russell Terrier.

Kirby is an adventurous guy with a higher energy level, and is smart as a whip. He is potty trained and walks pretty well on a leash, although he has a strange habit of walking on his hind legs (see photo). He is also fully crate trained. He isn't a barker and does well meeting new adults and older children, but like most Jack Russells we think he would be better in a home without very young children. He is excitable around other dogs so he needs a one dog home that is kitty-free because he has a bad habit of chasing them. He has great house manners and isn't a chewer.

Because he is motivated by both squeaky toys and treats and he's smart, he will be a breeze to train. He already knows his basic commands! Because he is so smart and high energy, Kirby needs strong leadership and would do best in a home who is prepared to provide him with training, exercise, and/or fun things to do. Kirby is quite a jumper with his attention on all things over his head. He would love activity that would challenge both his physical and mental abilities.
