Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ONCE UPON A TIME there were two scared, homeless chihuahuas who stuck together like glue ....
Where would their next meal be found? And when? Where would they take safe cover for the night? If only they had a home...and to make their situation even more desperate, the female was pregnant.
Fast forward to May 2015...A good samaritan took these two in to her home and partnered with a local cat rescue (that also helps dogs) to make sure the parents and babies would be taken care of medically and to help with their placement. Within 30 minutes of landing at the good sam's home, Mama Chi showed signs of labor...She was whisked inside where she did indeed give birth to THREE beautiful babies! Mom & Dad (who soon became known as Ozzie & Harriet) were fantastic parents, lavishing love upon their sweet babes...And all babies and parents were loved on by the good sam/foster mom and her human family.
All three of the babies -- UNBELIEVABLY -- were flown up to Seattle to three very close friends who love these babies to death! They send pictures frequently, two of the pups were taken on a cruise on the family yacht after their arrival, they are toted around in front baby pouches by the human mamas, and the plan is to have a yearly birthday party for the three! It's all just too good to be true.... doted upon and loved to the nth degree.
But what about Ozzie and Harriet? Their little ones are all settled and happy in their new and wonderful homes, but Ozzie and his partner-for-life are still waiting for someone to need them in their family! Have they been left behind because they aren't little puppies? They are in fact approx. 2 years old and 6 lbs... so they are still youngsters... and they need a home... a place where they will be adored and appreciated for the special "babies" that THEY are.
What are they like, you may wonder?? They are playful and curious and LOVE LAPS!! They are good with children... but no chasing, please. They would love nothing more than to be in a home where there are two laps to sit on (or one lap that is willing to accommodate two!) .... they adore people. They also love to ride in the car! They sit in their bed together and don't budge! They also walk well on a leash. Since they can be reactive to cats, a cat-free home would be best (unless you have a cat who just doesn't care and is completely chill). They'd love a bit of a quieter household where they can establish a routine with their new people!
O&H deserve the best that life has to offer. They've been through too much already in their short lives, and they need someone who understands and appreciates this and will help them to settle in to their new ABSOLUTELY FOREVER home.
They've been fully vetted and are ready to go to their new home NOW. They are still currently in foster, but they have to stay within a penned-in area because of the family's other animals.... this is not ideal but it's all that can be done for now. We just know that the right family for these two is out there. Please contact Sarah at jmsmgm@aol.com or text/call her at 650-333-9000... they are being fostered in El Dorado Hills.
