Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hazel is a sweet girl who found herself abandoned when her owners moved away and left her; fortunate for her some very keen neighbors got involved and made sure she found rescue with us.
She is young between 6 and months. She is social and plays well with most other dogs she has met, but she could benefit from additional and lifetime socialization with other dogs. She is crate training and house training and doing exceptionally well on it too
She does have excited moments when meeting new human friends and adores children but can be a tad too much for small (toddler and barely above) children for a minute or two, so meeting new little people should be done on leash for control and training her not to be "up" for meeting. We've worked on the concept and she does understand the down command. She is very submissive and will flip on her back for just about anyone; she doesn't mind if you decide it's a good time to give her a belly rub.
Because of her mix, we don't expect her to get over 50#. She is easy to handle on leash and will generally walk right along with you. She did display a small of anxiety on her first days with us, but seemed to get over it quickly; we don't blame her one bit as she surely knew she was abandoned once. Since getting comfortable in a foster home she has demonstrated she is willing to trust again.
She is scheduled for spay on 8/26/2015 and will be available for adoption shortly thereafter. She is up to date on vaccinations but will still need an additional booster shot on 09/10/2015 as she started her vaccinations at entry to rescue as far as we know. She is already microchipped too.
Hazel is fostered in Royal Oak, MI and potential adopters should reside within one hour drive of that area. If you are interested in adopting Hazel, please review our adoption process on www.3clr.org before completing our online adoption application. Her adoption fee is $300.00
