I am Charlotte. I am a gentle 3-4 year old purebred looking black lab. I am calm, friendly, love my foster mommy and daddy and am just a love. I love walks, love love love car rides, SWIMMING and love life. My favorite activity is following momma around….There is a 3 month old naughty puppy at foster mommy’s house, and I have appointed myself as his momma dog as I am so motherly (he is not my biological son, but I love him!). There is also a mean old 11 year old shepherd who bosses me around, but I am submissive to him. There are two small yappy dogs, who are quite mean to me, but I never ever fight back. I have the shiniest coat and the cutest labby ears. I know a few commands, like sit, and I am toilet trained. I love dogs and people (cats:untested). I am LOW maintenance and BEAUTIFUL.
So, what’s my story? Foster mommy cant really understand WHY on earth I am homeless as I am gentle, calm, kind and low maintenance. I was found in a rural part of Houston, TX as a stray and hauled off to a high kill shelter. I knew my chances were SLIM as I am black and with Black Dog Syndrome, the black dogs are put down first. In Houston alone. We have 1.2 million stray animals, so what chance did I have being black and not a cute puppy? But I won the heart of the animal control officer and volunteers who rallied around to keep me alive…and begged all the lab rescue groups to take me. They knew it was a long shot, but they tried….
Then one day, the Director of Ab Fab Lab saw my picture and came to see me. She fell in love with my gentle character. She asked me if I wanted to go home with her, and I said yahoo, HUGGED her and jumped into her car! She saved my life!
So that’s my story. I love my foster mom and dad…she is so great. But I really dream of parents who would take me on walks and car rides and on adventures. Can you make my dream come true?
My adoption fee is $475 and that includes my vetting, shots, microchip, crate and transportation to anywhere in New England. I have tested heartworm negative…
