Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**June currently lives in Houston, Texas with her foster parents and she's available for out of state
adoption. Unfortunately, an in-person meeting of June prior to adoption is not possible, though the foster can provide pictures/video and is able to host a video chat between the adopter and June via skype.**
Meet our adorable little June, or as well like to call her, Junie Bug. We can't think of a sweeter or happier pup than June. Our love bug was rescued from a high kill shelter here in Texas where, through no fault of her own, had ended up there as a stray. She was nearly emaciated and obviously hadn't had a great start to life so we were determined to get her healthy and on her way to a new start. Since coming into our rescue she has been nothing but a joy to have around and she’s eager to share that love and joy with her new family!
June is a female hound/short-hair pointer mix who is around 11 months old. She has long legs, a lean frame, and her coat is predominantly white with adorable dark brown patches. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, tested heartworm negative, and is on monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.
What’s special about June is her smarts. Even at her young age she is crate trained, housebroken, walks well on a leash, and knows basic commands like “sit” and “lay down”. She is very motivated by treats and toys so training is a breeze and could make for a fun activity for the whole family as she learns more advanced commands.
June has a moderate to high level of energy as is typical of pointers so she will need a home with
adequate space to stretch her legs, or an active family who plans on her being a running companion. She loves to go for runs/walks, play with other dogs, go for a swim, and she also LOVES to play fetch! She is incredibly quick on her feet and it is an absolute delight to watch her leap and bound after the tennis balls.
We would dare anyone to watch her play and hop around in the yard and not smile! After she gets some of her energy out she is the best snuggle buddy in the world. She is completely willing to curl up with you on the couch and get some love while you’re watching TV or reading.
June has never met a stranger of any kind. She loves dogs, cats, humans young and old, you name it! She gets along very well with her doggy foster brothers and sisters playing and sharing toys, space, and attention very nicely. Her fosters think that she would do great in either a single-animal home or a multi-animal home. As long as she’s got love and playtime from her new family she will be a happy dog. If you’re looking for a hiking/swimming/running buddy that is affectionate, playful, and full of personality, June is the pup for you!
June’s adoption fee is $500 which covers her vetting, a new crate/travel bed, two months of heartworm prevention, and transport to her new family.
The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an application on our website at
www.reggiesfriends.org (hover over the adoptables tab and the application will come up)
