Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Ricky is currently living in a wonderful foster home in Houston, Texas, but he wants his very own family. He’s available for adoption, either locally to Houston or out-of-state.**
Meet Ricky. He's about 10 weeks old and we are guessing that he is a Terrier and Labrador mix. He is currently 16 pounds and expected to be about 35-40 pounds as an adult. Ricky was found with 2 other puppies that we assumed to be his siblings; however they are just about 1/3 of his size. He and the others were on the side of a busy Houston street and very much in danger. They were very fortunately spotted by a rescuer, scooped up into safety and are not living in a great foster home and looking for their forever families.
Ricky has come a long way in the couple weeks he's been with his foster. He is super affectionate and just a complete sweetheart. He adores every person that he’s met so far and will shower you with kisses and cuddle on your lap. He loves to play with other dogs too. Toys are a must in Ricky’s life and he is still young, so things like shoes and remotes are considered toys to him unless he’s told otherwise. It’s very hard to get upset with this amazing little pup though when he does puppy things. He is the talker in the group and most often when he’s happy and playing with his friends. Ricky is a lover of the outdoors and nothing is better than rolling I the green grass for this love bug. He is so cute when he gets tired because he'll walk over to his pen and go right to sleep. Play hard, sleep hard! He sleeps with his litter mates at night and he is quite content to have a furry friend to snuggle with.
Ricky is still a baby and he needs a new family that is willing to continue working on his house training and leash skills. He is going to be an amazing jogging or hiking companion when he’s a little bit older, but learning perfect leash skills now will be really helpful in the near future. Ricky would be a great addition to any family because he’s really adaptable and happy-go-lucky.
He was found in pretty poor condition, but with proper care and vetting, he's healed up and feeling good. Ricky is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. He was a skinny puppy, but now he loves feeding time and his little belly is proof of that! He will very enthusiastically eat his meals and take treats out of a hand.
Ricky is available for out-of-state adoption and his adoption fee is $450 in total to help cover the cost of his airline flight, new travel crate and bed. You simply cannot go wrong with this sweet pup! If those big eyes are talking to you and telling you that he’s your new baby…email us today at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org to meet him.
