My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Chihuahua
DOB: 2004
Sex: Neutered Male
Weight: 5 pounds

Louie is a very sweet and easy-going little guy. He lives with other dogs and gets along with them all, mostly he just ignores them. His favorite thing to do is hang out in a doggie bed or on the couch or chair -- if someone lifts him up as he can't jump up by himself. He also likes napping in his crate. Louie loves attention but isn't demanding about getting it.

Because of Louie's small size and senior bones he will need a home without young children.

The only time he will bark is if he thinks you are not getting him his food fast enough at feeding time. He will whine when he has to go outside to potty. If it's too cold during the winter he will use a pee pad.
His eyesight is not as good as in his younger years. He gets around okay during the day but at night he does have a harder time. He lives in a home with a very secure fenced yard and though he doesn't need a fenced yard, Louie will need to have someone with him whenever he is outside because of his small size and poor eyesight.
Louie had to have some teeth pulled at his last cleaning but he still has about half of them left. His foster mom cooks meat for the dogs and mixes little pieces along with the meat broth with his kibble. He also gets fish oil to keep him in top shape.

Louie is hoping there is someone that will love him everyday for the rest of his life.

Our adoption process includes an application, personal and vet reference checks, and a home visit. We do not ship dogs under any circumstances.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check our front page for the dates of our next Pet Parade. Appointments outside of Pet Parade to visit our dogs are only available after an application has been filled out, and processing has begun.
Please be kind to our volunteers. E-mail inquiries will be answered much faster than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
