Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This dog's fosterhome is located in: Ottawa, Ontario
Izzy is sweet gal with a gentle temperament and the most beautiful big brown eyes. She is 3-4 years old and weighs 16 lbs. She is very shy, especially with men and children; however Izzy will bond quickly to women. She is very quiet, rarely barking unless playing with other dogs. Izzy is housetrained with only occasional accidents. She loves to sleep the day away on your bed or hers, but also loves play time and will happily and energetically chase toys if you throw them. Izzy loves to walk happily on leash and will run like the wind in the park. She can master basic commands and is very smart; however she sometimes has trouble listening if she is scared. Loud noises and new people make her nervous. Izzy quickly makes friends with cats (and has even been caught cuddling with them). She enjoys the company of other dogs but it takes her a little while to become accustomed to them. Izzy would be happiest in a quiet female-only home with perhaps another small dog but with no children. This shy gal would love to cuddle in your lap and give you all the love in her big soft heart.
Note: This dog is a "Guardian Assistance Placement" dog, meaning he/she is being cared for in a home that is not affiliated with Ratbone Rescues. The custodians have supplied vet records and signed an agreement giving Ratbone the right and responsibility to rehome the dog, but Ratbone does not have physical custody and cannot otherwise vouch for any of the information provided.
OUR ADOPTION FEE is $150 ($175 for puppies younger than 12 months; $200 for American Hairless Terriers).
QUESTIONS ABOUT ADOPTION? Read the "Adoption Process" section below!
IS THIS DOG AVAILABLE? If the bio above doesn't say that there's an adoption pending, then YES! he or she IS available. As soon as we approve an application, we'll post it, so you will NOT get more current info by emailing us to ask if the dog is available. To "get in line" to adopt or get more details, you MUST CLICK HERE to submit an Adoption Application.
QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS DOG? The email address on this page is for website-related issues ONLY. For answers to specific questions about a particular dog, you MUST submit an Adoption Application! That is the only way to access the fosterparent for this particular dog, who is the only person who can answer specifics about this dog's personality or geographic location. (Our dogs are located in private fosterhomes around the state, and we do not provide those addresses on the Internet or to casual inquiries, and you cannot just "drop by" to see a dog without prearranging it with the fosterhome.) Because we are an all-volunteer organization and receive a very high volume of inquiries, we can only respond personally to people who have demonstrated a serious interest in adoption by filling out our application.
