Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Adorable Lily came to us from a shelter where she was deemed unadoptable due to her condition. She had severe hair loss due to a flea allergy. Lilly bounced back to a healthy, happy girl with the help of a balanced raw diet, no toxins and a lot of love and exercise.
Lily was adopted to people who agree to keep her in a holistic manner; no chemical, commercial flea products or heat worm products and blood titers to prove her level of antibodies and therefore her need for vaccinations. Within a few days Lily had been given Frontline Plus and a heart worm preventative. Within a matter of a week she was experiencing toxic poisoning; showing both physical and behavioral changes. We immediately took Lily back and put her through a detox program. We have had her back in our program since May 26th and she is now once again, happy and healthy.
Lily is a very sweet, very smart, 9 pound girl. She is fine with other dogs but is a bit bossy so does best with a more submissive dog or would be find as an only dog. she does not get along with cats. Lily loves to play and race around the yard but her favorite thing is to be with her person. She loves walks, the car and doing whatever it is that you are doing. She would be fine with older, respectful children.
Lily's adoption will require a fenced yard and not being left a typical 8 hour work day; someone who works part time, works from home, is retired or has a person who comes in during the work day for at least an hour. Lily must go into a home where she will be cared for in a more natural, holistic manner. She needs a balanced raw diet and someone who is familiar with blood titers and how to keep their dog flea free and heart worm free without toxic chemicals. If there is a next time it will most likely kill her. Caring for your dog naturally is easy, cost effective and will keep your dog healthier longer.
NOTE: We no longer adopt to people who are using or will continue to use commercial, chemical flea preventatives/products. This is a dangerous neurotoxin that poisons the life force of your dog (his or her blood) in order to kill a flea. There are serious side effects including seizures and even death from the use of this product. It is so toxic that it is under the control of the EPA, deadly to wildlife, a toxic water pollutant, dangerous to children and pregnant women.. With over 40,000 complains of sickness and death a year reported to the EPA from the use of these chemical flea products, we feel we can no longer put our dogs in homes who continue to use these products for flea prevention. We are happy to talk with you about natural flea preventatives.
Below is the Material Data Sheet sent to me by Merial who makes Frontline Plus.
