Here's what the humans have to say about me:
9/3/15 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!
Adoption Fee: $500
Fostered in Alabama
Age: 2 years
Weight: 7 lbs.
8/2/15 - Mickey was found wandering the streets; he was less than half his current body weight and nearly dead from lack of food. A kind family took him in and literally nursed him back to health. The wonderful family who saved Mickey has to move from their current home. They were really sad when they had to give Mickey up to rescue, but it was the best thing for all concerned.
Mickey is a lovable, active, two year old; he can't wait to take a walk every morning and walks more than a mile. When he sees another dog out walking, he barks because he wants to play. He plays with any dog in his foster home that will play with him.
He will bark when it is mealtime just to make sure that foster mom knows that he wants his bowl of food. He dances on his hind legs to show how much he wants to eat; because he went without food for so long when he was lost, he never misses a meal. He will sit and wait politely for his treat.
He can jump high enough to get on top of a 30 inch baby gate and then pull himself over and get free, so he is a flight risk and will require a tall fence with no gaps or holes in it.
He likes to play with toys, but mostly he likes to play with other dogs and will need one in his forever home that likes to play. He is not really fond of young children because they are loud. He could do well with a gentle, older child since his small size does make him delicate. He sleeps in a dog bed next to foster mom's bed with his blanket and will often crawl under the blanket to sleep. He likes to sit on the couch next to foster mom and watch the news; he also enjoys being held for short periods of time. He sits on foster mom's lap while she works at her desk.
Mickey enjoys fuzzy toys and will often carry one around, but eventually he gets tired of that toy and chews and chews until he breaks open a seam and he gets the squeaker and stuffing out. He also likes to chew on his bone every day.
He adapted quickly to his foster home; within the first three minutes that he was in his foster home, he was playing with one of the other dogs. He likes to go out in the yard to poop and pee and comes in when he is called.
Mickey has large ears that make him look so cute and big eyes; everyone who sees him thinks he is just precious. He is a happy pup who adapts well to many situations.
