Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Harleigh is a sweet young Labrador mix. She is under a year old and suspected to be between 7 and 11 months of age. She has beautiful reddish coat that gives her the slight look of a golden retriever but she is not long haired. She has a medium double coat, like that of Labrador but a few minor hound features which lead us to believe she was mixed with a hound gene or two.
She is great with other dogs and acceptable but curious about cats. She is living with a foster cat now, but has been tested with other cats and done well with respect too. She’s been exposed to several different dogs – big and little and multiple breeds and never had any concern, except knowing when a senior dog doesn’t want to be bothered, but that’s uncommon for a puppy learning her social skills.
She is house and crate training and doing well. Minor accidents that she has had can be blamed on timing and people understanding her.
She is gentle on lead and leash walked daily, most times her nose is to the ground so she’s not pulling or causing trouble but investigating everything as she goes along with you.
She is great about riding in a car and doesn’t get car sick. She isn’t car rowdy or excitable after she is in the vehicle, but the idea of going for a ride does excite her some. However, she settles into the back seat and shows respect to ride along happily without being invasive.
She doesn’t really know her name, yet but is learning that along with basic commands of come, sit, down, off. She weighs about 33 pounds and isn’t too big to enjoy her puppy nature. Her coat is beautiful and soft, not overly shedding.
She came to us an owner surrender out of the Lexington area of Kentucky. She didn’t have a great start to life as she lived in barn mostly by herself, but she’s definitely learning she loves her house life and foster family interaction.
She is currently fostered in Fowlerville, MI with her human mom, dad and sister. She also has a fur-kitty foster sister who is still learning to like a dog in her house, but so far, it’s been acceptable interaction and we are sure Charlotte the kitty will come to enjoy her.
If you are interested in applying for Harleigh, please review our adoption process on www.3clr.org and find our online application there to apply for her. She is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Her adoption fee is $300.00.
