Here's what the humans have to say about me:
GUS or AUGGY
Gus is a very gorgeous 2 year old Rottweiler x American Bulldog. UTD on vaccines and neutered. He is a strong 90lb boy who is just full of life and energy. Loves to be around his people and thinks he is a lap dog!
Gus was surrendered to rescue as the owners could not handle his energy level which had escalated as he was not being walked. Gus had energy to burn but no where to do it which resulted in some naughty behaviours at home like; stealing household items to get you to chase him, crying for attention. All very puppy behaviours and can very easily be changed with exercise and a training routine. We have started walking Gus in a pack of other dogs and he does very well. He can however play too rough when he gets too excited. We have crated trained Gus to sleep at night. We have taught him basic obeidence where he has excelled. He can loose leash walk and walks by other dogs no issue. We even started Gus in agility !! Gus in his old life was sometimes reactive to other dogs while on leash, so we have worked very hard at making Gus feel safe. So when introduced fairly we have seen no issues with Gus and other dogs. Gus came from a home that had an 8lb yorkie male and they were best friends. He really is a big LOVER who is just full of energy.
Gus was cat tested where he showed a reaction; so small animals are not in the cards for Gus. He has a high toy drive and prey drive which makes him great for working and playing with!
Gus is sound and in great health, although not a requirement Gus has been raw fed since 8 weeks of age. He thrives on his raw food diet.
A little more about Gus, he is very wiggly and happy boy. Loves to meet ALL people and is great with little kids (although can some times knock younger children over) Gus has met lots of young children and is always about play! Gus has no issues with guarding and has never shown any aggression towards people, Gus has a great overall temperament. His interactions with other dogs need to be selective in order to keep Gus from becoming too excited where he may play rough. We achieve this daily in pack walks of varying ages and breeds. Gus came from a loving home who just could not give him what he needed.
We would recommend a home with larger calmer children as Gus is learning to control his own excitement. He is a big goofy boy who doesn't know his own size.
If you think you have what it takes to be a perfect forever home for Gus please email kerrysk9revolution@hotmail.com for an adoption application
