My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Ike but my dad calls me Ikewell. My favorite playmate is Maxwell, a young Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I guess my dad gets us confused sometimes. Sometimes; when we've been roughhousing; he sputters and he uses all our names together. I love to go for walks, play in the yard and I'm learning how to play fetch. Going outside to play gets me ready for a walk or run. I love my humans, especially my dad. I follow him everywhere. He says he is trying to teach me to walk nicely on a leash, oh look a chicken! I love to be very close to my humans, especially my dad. I usually sleep in my crate, but I love to snuggle with my Dad. My dad says I need to learn to wait and patience, I hope it happens quickly. My dad makes me wait sometimes when I bug him for affection, he says it will teach me patience. I love to greet everyone we meet, and I'm learning to like kids, even the girls. But I have a difficult time trusting people I've just met, so I will try to guard my stuff from them. My Dad says using hand-feeding and trading exercises he learned from Best Friends will help me be more trusting. I like Best Friends! I do love my toys, plush toys are just begging to be taken apart! I love Kong toys too, but my favorite is one of my Dads old roller hockey balls. I have a whole other vocabulary I use when I'm playing with my toys,  cats aren't the only ones that can purr! I've learned so sit; sort of quietly; when someone comes to the door or we're going for a walk, but it's really hard. I'm just so happy to be living with  several brothers and a sister. Lots of times my dad tells me to slow down and be careful, because my favorite playmate is much smaller than me. I guess I'm not used to being around other dogs, but I do get along well with everyone. I do get really scared when it's going to storm, or there are fireworks. I run to my dad and I'll sit next to him and sometimes he'll hold me if it's really bad. My dad says I shake like a paintshaker when I'm scared. My dad is trying to do something called behavior modification, to help me when I'm scared. I don't know what that means but I  do feel better. Breakfast and dinner times are allways a good time. My Dad says I have a whole vocabulary of grunts, squeaks, and other noises I use when it's feeding time. I've learned to sit and gently take a teaspoon of raw pumpkin as a treat before breakfast and dinner. My dad says its so my brother and sister will take their medicine. My older brother gets his eyes cleaned and eye ointment every day, and I think I need to have my eyew cleaned as well. We get more treats after that is done. I love to get other treats too, I love watermellon, most raw vegies, yoghurt, frozen vanilla custard, and so on. I'm not allowed to eat grapes or onions, I don't understand it. I love to for rides too, but sometimes I get anxious when we're getting close to where we're going. I've been camping several times now and I love this too. I've been to Upper Black Eddy in Eastern Pennsylvania and Cheboygan in Northern Michigan. Camping is great, my dad is around all the time!
