My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A Home with a 6 foot fence is required...Hound or Large Breed experience is a must!!!

Hello there,

My Name is Beauregard. I am a stunning young man that almost ended up at a high kill shelter. CLHR took me in and they have been working with me on manners and fattening me up. I am currently pounds and need to gain a good 20 pounds. I am neutered and fully vetted. Heartworm Negative and on preventatives.

I am a super sweet guy with some fear towards men. I prefer women but will warm up to a man that is gentle. I am just scared of them. This will take time and patience. I have been with my Foster Dad for a month and I am still afraid to come inside if he is standing by the door. You have to be patient with me if you are serious about adding me to your home. This is something that will take work and will not go away overnight. Someone was very mean to me when I was growing up and that is hard to overcome.

I was born on January 10th, 2014....

I am big and clumsy but I am learning. I am fully crate trained and will not make a mess overnight in my crate. I love to be inside and outside and will be perfectly suited for an active home. I would love to have my humans play with me a lot during the day or have a dog my size to play with.

I like most other dogs. I have issue with dominant male dogs my size. So it is important I meet my potential roommates before I am adopted.

I chase birds so a farm with chickens is not a good idea. Small fluffy dogs are not a good match either, small dogs are Ok as long as I am supervised. I have huge paws and like to tap on smaller dogs to play with them. So I have to be watched.

I drool and I sling it... :) Like an Olympian, so if you are super freaky neat and cringe at drool, keep looking as I am not the Hound for you!

My leash training needs more work, but I am smart...I also do not mark and if you let me out on a schedule I am perfectly house trained. Up to you to take me out and keep me that way. I do not chew on furniture but I am also exercised right now. I am sure if you think you can leave me in the house alone all day I will find things to do :)

Training and schedule is important and in order for to remain this perfect specimen on Hound, I need a dedicated family that will continue my good training....

My current foster home is in Greenville, SC if you are interested in adoption please go to our web site and fill out an application!

You HAVE to have a 6 Foot Fence to be considered!!!!!!!!!!! LArge Breed Experience and the patience needed to gain Beaus trust if you are male!!!! This will take time as he was abused by a male!
