Leo is a sweet and handsome young man who is very lucky to be alive - thanks to his wonderful personality. He arrived at the shelter in a horrible condition: he had a bad skin infection and a lot of hair loss on his back, legs and rear end. In spite of this, he was friendly and happy at the shelter, his tail never stopped wagging and he distributed kisses to visitors through the kennel door. He was not even put up for adoption because of the condition of his skin - this is how he came to us.
With the help of modern antibiotics, medicated baths, good food and TLC, Leo's skin healed quickly and he is a different dog today. His hair grew in and he is proud to show off his brand new coat. Leo is still his happy and cheerful self and he has never met a human he did not like. He is eager to please and is learning house manners as well as basic obedience in his foster home, Leo loves walks, mealtime and toys. He can play with his favorite ball for hours and he is a joy to watch. Leo loves to roll on his back to have his tummy rubbed or just snuggle next to his person on a garden bench. He has not had accidents in the house (has to be allowed outside at reasonable time intervals). Leo is crate trained. He does OK with other dogs although he prefers not to share yummy bones with other dogs - and who can blame him for that.
Leo is mainly blond in color with shepherd markings. At around 60lbs he is not a very big shepherd and we estimate him to be around 2-3 years old. Leo is looking for a family to love and spoil.
