Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sophie was found as a stray dog and not claimed from local animal control. She was very fearful when she first came into the shelter and would nip staff who approached or tried to handle her (she never broke skin). As she became accustomed to the staff, this behaviour significantly decreased, and when taken into rescue she was generally only nipping at staff when being leashed up to go out for exercise, or when she was being put away in the kennel after exercise. This behaviour stemed from anxiety, as Sophie was one stressed out little lady. She found it difficult to relax / settle and was often found pacing and whining.
Since coming into rescue and a foster home, we have seen none of this behaviour in Sophie. She has been a great easy girl - loves her snuggles, good manners, housetrained, etc. We think Sophie may have been dumped by family after an elderly owner passed away, because its very surprising she was not claimed. Sophie also had a cancerous mammary tumor removed, and is now happy and healthy.
Sophie is very sweet when she is not stressing out – she likes cuddles and attention and will ask for it constantly. She has been good with other dogs – not overly interactive, but she does not avoid or disagree with them.
The best home for Sophie would be with a reasonably active adult or pair of adults who work from home, or perhaps are recently retired. They should be interactive with their dog, and enjoy walks and other exercise that is more than turning the dog out in the yard. Because of her unknown history, we are requiring an adoptive home with no small children.

Sophies adoption fee is $500.
