Say hello to Sprite! She will be arriving in foster care on 9/22. She weighs 7.5 lbs, is 95% housebroken with a doggie door, gets along great with dogs (large and small), likes cats (even lays down to sleep next to the elderly cat in her foster home). Sprite is a wonderful little lap dog and loves to be held and carried around, also used to a leash. She was a stray I happened upon on a busy highway, I believe she was dumped. She was badly flea infested, filthy and needed a comb out and mats clipped. Fortunately, this foster is a groomer, so she took care of everything Appears to be between 7 - 12 mos old. A bit timid to strangers, but warms up fast.

Due to her small size, no young children please.

UPDATE 9/18: Sprite is very sweet but does not like strangers. She barks at them and also barks if crated with someone home unless you are in the same room with her, but after awhile she will settle down. She is an awesome little dog, just packed with personality. Sprite bonds quickly to the woman in the home to sit on her lap non-stop!

Sounds like this little girl will need to be introduced to a lot of strangers to get over her initial shyness. Perhaps she can go to work with you?
