Dingo is a 1-2 year old female mix who weighs a petite 22 lbs. Based on her temperament and size, we think she may be an American Eskimo dog mixed with Sheltie. She's a very pretty little girl...about the size of a slender beagle. She seems to prefer smaller dogs as her playmates as opposed to dogs over 50 lbs. Boy, does she LOVE to play with the other dogs at her foster home! They keep each other happily entertained. With humans, she is a bit on the shy side at first, but once she knows you she's very sweet. When you come home from work, she will happily greet you with a chorus of funny sounds. She also LOVES children and cuddling! After play time, she likes to hang out on the couch and watch TV with you.
Once settled into a new home, we know she will be the light of your life! She's a VERY affectionate little girl. She just needs a few days to get to know you before she "lets her hair down" and cuddles up. We think she probably was mistreated by a man prior to coming into foster care, as it takes her longest to warm up to men. But she loves her foster dad after only three weeks, so it's not a long-term settling in issue. She just needs to know she can trust the men in her life and she'll relax around them.
We have no idea how she is with cats but she does like to chase rabbits in the yard so maybe cats are not a good idea.
Happy Dog Rescue is not a shelter. Our dogs are fostered in a home environment. All meetings are by appointment. We do not know if any of our dogs are good with cats as we have no way to cat test them in our foster program.
If you are interested in meeting or possibly adopting this dog, please
submit our adoption application to begin the process.
