Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Bryna is currently living in a wonderful, loving foster home in Houston, Texas and is looking for her very own family, locally or out-of-state.**
It was a very emotional day for a compassionate Houstonian when she was driving down the streets on the East End of Houston and saw a very hungry puppy wandering around, darting in and out of traffic, heading for some scraps of food and trash. She jumped out of her car to snap a few photos to post to see if she could get some help for her, but that’s when this baby ducked down and squinted like she was going to get hit. When this sweet pup realized she was actually being given a snack, her entire body started wiggling in the happiest dance ever witnessed. That little dance saved her life because her rescuer couldn’t imagine leaving her, so she put her in the car and headed off to safety.
Meet Bryna, the wiggliest, happiest, 27 pound, 6 month old Staffordshire mix we’ve ever met. She was very thin and had a minor skin irritation, but otherwise was a completely healthy pup. Her amazing spirit will draw you in and her affectionate nature will keep you there. She wants to share her love with everyone she meets.
Bryna adores all other dogs and lives with a few in her foster home. She plays so well with all of them and would love to have a furry sibling in her next family. She has met several cats too and doesn’t seem interested at all and simply ignores them. Apparently she realizes they don’t want to play. She is fabulous with all people and isn’t timid anymore like that day on the street. She very much enjoys lying with her foster family and most often across their laps. She’s always available if belly rubs are being given out too…first in line for certain.
Kids all love Bryna’s wiggle and they always want to play with her and she can’t think of anything more enjoyable. She wiggles and dances constantly around the kiddos and anytime that she’s shown affection too, which is a lot in her foster family. She wants that to continue in her next family too.
Bryna is still very young and is learning all of her basics. She is very smart and strives to gain approval from her people, so with continued training, she’s going to have lots of commands and tricks down. She is treat motivated, so that too will aide in training. She is so sweet and takes the treats out of hands so gently. She shares her toys with the other dogs and often encourages friendly games of tug-o-war.
Bryna doesn’t have even one aggressive tendency, but will get a bit bossy if another dog tries to push her out of her own food bowl. We think that is actually a legitimate reason to get bossy, considering she was so incredibly hungry as a baby and just doesn’t like to miss out on a meal. She does jump up on people occasionally when she’s excited and her foster family is working with her on that since not everyone likes a puppy hug.
Bryna is kennel trained, 85% potty trained and has mastered the leash, although when she’s in the middle of a happy dance…she just can’t control her wiggle. She loves to go on walks and could probably be an incredible trail hiker and even running partner with a little bit of practice. She definitely has the body style, the endurance and the love of the outdoors for these things.
Bryna is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Her vet believes that she will be about 45 pounds as a full grown lady, the perfect size to participate in all of her new owner’s activities. Bryna’s ideal family is active, playful, affectionate and will adore her every day and she will do the same. She has the shiniest black and white coat and a smile that will light up your entire day.
She is currently living in a wonderful foster home in Houston, Texas and is available for out of state adoption. Her adoption fee is $450, which helps cover the cost of her airline ticket and travel crate. If you need a dance partner, look no further because Bryna is your girl. Please email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org to learn more about or adopt this sweet girl.
