My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mercy was found, covered in ticks, and rescued by a nice person who found her a nice family to keep her safe while they worked to get her into rescue.

Mercy is a playful Australian Shepherd pup, who is looking for an outgoing family to call her own. She is very friendly and intelligent, but because of her breed, she will likely be a natural at herding things like farm animals, pets, and children. She will need training and lots of toys and exercise to keep her occupied and out of mischief.

Mercy is still a puppy and is learning to house-train. She is very people-oriented, and tolerates her crate if she must, but she prefers to be with her people. She will begin learning basic commands, but she will need to go to puppy obedience classes to help her learn even more.

We recommend that any potential adopter be familiarized or experienced with the Australian Shepherd breed and their personality traits. Mercy will be a wonderful and very outgoing family companion.

L&S Dog Diggity Rescue is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We save homeless and abandoned dogs and find them loving forever homes in other areas, where pet homelessness is not epidemic.

All of our pets are located here in San Antonio, and we partner with Paws Without Borders and other rescues to provide transportation for our pets to their new homes. Our adoption fee includes vet care (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchipping, flea and heartworm prevention, etc), as well as transportation and health certificate.

Our adoption process starts with submitting an Adoption Inquiry to tell us more about your home, family, and activity level to help ensure the best possible pet match. The next step is to submit an Adoption Application and schedule a video call to meet the pet and interview with us, as well as ask us any questions you may have. The final step is to sign and submit the Adoption Contract, as well as submit the adoption fee. Our Adoption Inquiry and Adoption Application forms can be found on our website at www.dogdiggityrescue.com, click on Our Dogs, then use the buttons on the left of the page.
