Beautiful Louie is looking for his perfect forever home. Louie would be an excellent brother for a med/large dog who needs a playmate or a great only dog. He bonds very hard with his foster siblings and plays/cuddles with them constantly, but does occasionally meet a dog he doesn't like, though he takes correction very well. Louie is a Bull Terrier/Shep Mix and is about 1-2 years old. He's about 50 pounds and is wonderful with all people including children. He has a very sweet and loving nature. I find myself smiling at his sweet ways often. Louie would prefer a fenced in yard and a human who wants to play fetch with him every now and then. It doesn't take much to tired him out. Louie has a bum back leg from an old injury, but he manages on it fine and our vet wouldn't recommend surgery. Like most Bull Terriers and Shepherds, Louie would do best with a strong human leader. It's in his nature to please and love people, but he's a young strong smart boy who needs direction from his human. Louie is neutered, vaccinated, heart-worm neg, had a clean fecal test, and is microchipped. We also did x-rays on his leg. His adoption fee is $200.

Happy Tails Rescue Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit foster-based rescue based in Munster, Indiana (which borders our former Lansing, IL location). We have no shelter, all of our animals are cared for in loving foster homes until their forever home match is found. All of our animals are fully vetted before adoption, including distemper, rabies, and bordatella vaccines, a heartworm test, fecal test, microchip, and are spayed/neutered. Because all our dogs are fully vetted out adoption fees range from $150-$350. If you're interested in meeting one of our animals please fill out an application first. If approved we will then arrange a meet and greet. Happy Tails does not do same day adoptions because we do a short home visit to make sure our animals are being placed in safe environments.
