My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sophie is a pure-breed, 10 year old, female Maltese. She has been spayed and is current on all of her vaccinations. She is housebroken and had her previous owner trained quite to pick her up for snuggle time on demand.

Sadly, Sophie’s owner passed away and she is now in need of a loving home to care for her for the rest of her life. Sophie is used to being with her people most of the time. She loves to hang out in your lap or snuggled up next to you in bed. She also enjoys short walks and is very good on leash. She is good with other dogs, although she prefers to be the queen of her castle. She loves to RV and wants to experience new adventures with her family. She has not been tested with cats.

Sophie is a special needs girl. She was diagnosed in 2013 with controlled immune-mediated thrombocytopenia (meaning low platelet/clotting cell numbers due to a compromised immune system). This medical condition will need to be monitored with a regular CBC blood test and medication to manage for the rest of her life. The medication that Sophie takes is an easily administered liquid
