Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bryan Bickell of the Chicago Blackhawks and his wife Amanda are dedicated to helping Pit Bull type dogs find forever homes. As part of their Bick's Pit program, a Pit Bull is featured through the organization so they can one day find their forever home. Please see the dog's information below and be sure to check out Bick's other pits!
We are seeking Chicago area rescue for a fabulous boy named Dingus. Please contact Jamie at huckandtulip@gmail.com or Ed at bigedsdogtraining@gmail.com to learn more about this AMAZING dog!
Dingus is a 4 year old pit mix. He’s a little guy, approx 45 lbs. and gaining. As most dogs that find themselves at local Animal Control facilities there isn’t much history. What we do know is that Dingus was chained outside his entire life. He had been found starving and tethered to an 8ft chain. Dingus landed himself in a warm local Animal control facility. After 10 days of being property of the state, he was released and transported to Big Ed’s training facility in Ingleside, IL.
Ed’s training facility is a professional training program and has established relationships with Chicagoland rescues. Funds were raised for Dingus to attend a 2 month training session (began Jan 29th, 2015) that will allow him to work on his manners, mostly inside manners. Having been forced to survive outside on an 8ft chain, Dingus lacked exercise and stimulation. What’s most remarkable about Dingus is that he is a complete lover. He adores people, including kids. When you engage him he leans right into you as if he is melting into you. It’s as if he has completely forgotten how a human once treated him. He’s left that life behind and is excited about his new journey.
Dingus is currently working on dog interactions. He hasn’t showed any negative behavior towards other dogs, just has an eagerness to play. He is also taking weekly field trips to local pet and retail stores to expose him to many different environments and people. His report has been fantastic thus far.
From Ed, Dingus’ trainer; “My favorite thing about him is that he is a clean slate, there are no bad behaviors to correct. He is a 4 year old “puppy” with major confidence.”
Does any rescue have room to help this deserving boy continue his new journey to the good life?
